1WHILE EXERCISING

WHILE EXERCISING

1. Avoid postures that involve use of abdominal muscles & backward bend. Do some light exercise.
2. Consult your doctor if you have diabetes, heart disease or breathing problem.
3. Discontinue exercise/change posture if you feel pain.
4. Change your position slowly to avoid sudden jerks.
5. Do not exercise if you are not feeling well.
6. Do not wear slippery shoes.

2WHILE TRAVELLING

WHILE TRAVELLING

1. Avoid travelling in first and third trimester.
2. Travel by 2 or 3 wheelers is not advisable.
3. Carry your medicines & a copy of your medical records.
4. Wear comfortable shoes.
5. Have pasteurized dairy products and drink boiled water.
6. Do not travel alone.
7. Take pillow for long distance travel.
8. Do not lift heavy bags.

3SEX DURING PREGNANCY

SEX DURING PREGNANCY

1. Sex is safe during pregnancy only if there is no complication. Consult your doctor for that.
2. Avoid intercourse if there has been a previous miscarriage or there is light bleeding during the
    first few weeks of pregnancy.
3. Man should be gentle & thoughtful.
4. Try only comfortable positions.

4MEDICATION

MEDICATION

1. Do not take baking soda or Pepto Bismol for heartburn, rather take almonds soaked in water.
2. Aspirin, Ibuprofen & Acetaminophen is not advisable during pregnancy.
3. Laxative & Diuretics should also be avoided.
4. Avoid all over-the-counter medicines.
5. Do not use mineral oil during constipation.
6. Always consult your doctor before taking any medicine.
7. Apply home treatments for common illness during pregnancy.

5DIETARY PRECAUTIONS

DIETARY PRECAUTIONS

1. Avoid papaya & pineapple as they can cause abortion.
2. Do not drink too much coffee as it can lead to miscarriage in early stages.
3. Raw, smoked, frozen or high mercury sea food like oysters, fish should be avoided.
4. Wash all fruits & vegetables before eating to avoid infection.
5. Avoid aloe-vera, alcohol & cigarettes.
6. Do not have excessive butter & cheese.

6GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

1. Contact with pets, especially cats and reptiles is not advisable.
2. Avoid X-Rays and microwave.
3. Fumes from paint, thinner etc. should be avoided.
4. Do not take long hot baths.

7FOLIC ACID

FOLIC ACID

1. Help in blood & protein production, effective enzyme production, development of nervous system.
2. Very important during early weeks of pregnancy (first to third month).
3. Green leafy vegetables, peas, beans, nuts, tomato, orange, strawberry, banana, peas, spinach,
    nuts are rich in Folic Acid.

1. Helps in absorption of calcium, development of healthy bones & teeth.
2. Essential during second trimester (fourth to sixth month).
3. Dairy products, cereals, bread are rich in Vitamin D.

9CALCIUM

CALCIUM

1. Calcium is a must during pregnancy as it helps in developing bones & teeth, muscle
    contraction and nerve functioning.
2. Very important during second trimester (fourth to sixth month).
3. Pasteurized dairy products, milk, cheese, yogurt, spinach are rich in Calcium.

IRON

1. Helps in production of RBC (Red Blood Cells) & building bones and teeth.
2. Very important during second trimester (fourth to sixth month).
3. Spinach, cereals, drumsticks, beetroot, potato, raisins are rich in Iron.

11VITAMIN A

VITAMIN A

1. Necessary for healthy skin, good eyesight, strong bones.
2. Must have during second trimester (fourth to sixth month) as the development of skin, eyesight
    & bones take place during this time.
3. Carrot, sweet potatoes, tomato, peach, kiwi, orange, watermelon are rich in Vitamin A.

1. Helps in formation of healthy gums, teeth & strong bones.
2. Essential during second trimester (fourth to sixth month).
3. Citrus fruits like banana, apple, lemon, watermelon, grapes, tomatoes, fortified fruit juice are
    rich in Vitamin C.

1. Helps in formation of RBC.
2. Essential during second trimester (fourth to sixth month).
3. Pork, gram, whole grain cereals, bananas are rich in Vitamin B6.

1. Helps in formation of RBC and keeps nervous system healthy.
2. Essential during second and third trimester (fourth to ninth month).
3. Meat, fish, poultry, milk, egg are rich in Vitamin B12.

2. Very essential during third trimester (seventh to ninth month).
3. Bread, cereals, rice, potato, pasta, apricot, banana are rich in Carbs.

5. Coffee as it can lead to miscarriage in early stages.
6. Excessive butter and cheese.
7. White flour (maida).
8. Alcohol & smoking.
